S.O.S.: shiny object syndrome. It happens.


And without discipline, it can harm organizational strategy.


Having a solid strategy requires relentless focus and the ability to honestly assess both emerging opportunities (external) and the reality of the ability to deliver (internal). This means exciting but sometimes hard conversations about what could be… and what can’t be right now. Or perhaps ever.


Strategy is first and foremost what you say no to. Be firm with the “no”  to excel with the “yes.”
